Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
He conveyed his appreciation in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday (July 20).
In the post, the Jamaat chief wrote: “After I fell ill on the stage at Suhrawardy Udyan yesterday, the Chief Adviser inquired about my health and even sent his press secretary to the hospital. I express my sincere gratitude and thanks. His empathy will be remembered.”
He further added, “May Almighty Allah grant him the best reward. Ameen.”
Earlier, on Saturday around 5:15 pm, Dr Shafiqur Rahman collapsed on stage due to illness during their national rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. Shortly afterward, he stood up with the help of party leaders and addressed the gathering. He later said the illness was caused by excessive heat. Following the rally, he was taken to a hospital for medical attention.
