Prof Yusuf Haider appointed as an Emeritus Professor at the Department of Physics

DU Correspondent: The Department of Physics, University of Dhaka, is proud to announce that Professor A.F.M. Yusuf Haider, PhD, joined as an Emeritus Professor on 2 February 2026.
Professor Haider has had a distinguished career at the University of Dhaka, serving in numerous leadership roles, including Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Director of the Semiconductor Technology Research Centre, Chairman of the Department of Physics, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Provost of Surja Sen Hall.
Prof Haider played the pivotal role in establishing the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) while he was Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka. He also established the Modern Optics and Laser Research laboratory in the Department of Physics.
