Diplomatic Correspondent: Pakistan has reaffirmed its sincere desire for close and fraternal relations with Bangladesh. In response to media queries regarding a photo exhibition held in New York by Bangladesh`s mission there, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said the so-called exhibition was a failed attempt to peddle one sided and controversial narrative on the 1971 events.      

The spokesperson said issues related to the events of 1971 have been resolved through an agreement concluded by the then leadership of Pakistan and Bangladesh in 1974.

She appreciated the United Nations` swift action in taking down the exhibition after Pakistan pointed it out due to its misrepresentation of history and non-compliance with relevant UN rules.
