A farmer died after being struck by lightning in Dinajpur`s Birampur upazila on Wednesday morning.

The dead Prince, 35, son of Jasim Uddin, was a resident of Chapra under Binail union in the upazila.

According to locals, Prince was heading to his field from home as part of his daily routine. At that time, a lightning strike hit him just a short distance from his house, killing him on the spot.

Birampur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Momtazul Haque also confirmed the incident, saying, “We received information about the death caused by a lightning strike. As there were no objections, the body has been handed over to the family.”
