Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin expressed his commitment to delivering a free, fair, and credible election, calling it his foremost goal as he approaches the later stage of his life.
Addressing worshippers before Friday prayers at the Jessore Collectorate Mosque, he said, “At this point in my life, I have no personal ambitions; my focus is solely on serving the country by ensuring a transparent election process. However, this requires the support and prayers of all citizens.”
The CEC made the remarks while addressing a brief stopover in Jessore en route to Khulna.
Reflecting on his long government service, he added, “While I have held many positions and gathered extensive experience, the responsibility I bear now is critical for the nation. I want to restore public confidence through an acceptable election, and achieving this depends on collective cooperation.”
He also requested prayers for the victims of the recent plane crash in Dhaka and those affected by the Milestone School tragedy, attending a prayer session in their memory.
Jessore Deputy Commissioner Md. Azaharul Islam, officials, and among others, were present on the occasion.
