The death toll in the Bangladesh Air Force training plane crash in Uttara has risen to 27, with doctors confirming that 25 of the deceased were children. Additionally, 78 injured individuals are receiving treatment at various hospitals, with five in critical condition.
These details were shared on Tuesday morning (July 22) during a press conference at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery by Dr. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser.
Dr. Rahman stated that, so far, the bodies of 20 victims have been handed over to their families. While treatment continues relentlessly, the condition of some patients remains critical.
He added that many of the victims are children under the age of 12, most of whom have suffered extensive burns over large parts of their bodies. “We are making every effort to save their lives,” he said.
Meanwhile, the government has announced it will provide free medical treatment to all those injured in the crash.
