Advisers fail to leave Milestone despite heavy police escort
  Date : 22-07-2025

Law Adviser Asif Nazrul and Education Adviser CR Abrar were unable to leave Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara on Tuesday, despite a heavy police escort, after being confined for five hours by protesting students.

The advisers, who arrived at the institution around 10:30am for a meeting with teachers, were surrounded by students demanding action and accountability over a recent incident at the college. Among their six-point demands was the disclosure of the names of all students killed or injured.

Although the advisers accepted the demands and were allowed to exit the premises at around 3:30pm, their motorcade was obstructed by a crowd of hundreds gathered outside the gates.

Despite a significant police presence, the convoy was unable to make its way out and was forced to return to the campus.
