MM Rahmatullah: The first day of the science festival `Al-Khwarizmi Science Fest 2025` concluded with the award distribution ceremony of Project Display and Capture the Flag (CTF) events. The closing and award ceremony of the first day started at 6:30 pm.
Dr. Chowdhury Mahmud Hasan, former Vice-Chancellor of Manarat International University and former Chairman of the Pharmacy Department of Dhaka University, was present as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the Pharmacy Department of Manarat International University, was present as a special guest. The event was presided over by Sibgatullah, Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir.
In his speech, Dr. Chowdhury Mahmud Hasan said, Islam is not anti-science; rather, the Quran and Hadith encourage deep reflection on creation and research. He said, if science and technology are pursued for the benefit of humanity and to gain Allah`s pleasure, it becomes an act of worship.
A total of 10 participants, 5 from each event, were awarded. In the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, Team `Blind Virus` secured first place and Team `DU Dudhvat` secured second place. Teams `Lack of a Better Name`, `DU Black Noodles`, and `Cyber Rookie` secured third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively.
In the Project Display event, Team Radium secured first place with the `Smart Saline System` project. Team Pirates of Innovation secured second place with the `Road Safety System` project. Team Planets secured third place with the `Smart Moving Dustbin` project, and Team Nova secured fourth place with the `Health Habit Tracker Robot` project. Team Al-Beruni secured fifth place with the `Robot-Based Air Defense System` project.
The winners received cash, crest, certificate, and attractive gift hampers as prizes. Other dignitaries present at the event included Azizur Rahman Azad, Central Publicity Secretary of Chhatra Shibir, Saidul Islam, HRM Secretary, and Dr. Naeem Tajwar, Literature Secretary, among others.
