DU VC and Shibir Secretary visit hospital to see injured in attack on DUCSU leaders

DU Correspondent: Following attack on DUCSU leaders at the University of Dhaka campus, Vice-Chancellor Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam visited the injured students at hospitals on Thursday night (April 23, 2026).

He went to the Shaheed Buddhijibi Dr. Mohammad Mortaza Medical Center and Dhaka Medical College Hospital to check on the condition of the injured students, A.B. Zubayer and Mosaddeq Ali Ibne Mohammad. The Vice-Chancellor spoke with doctors and inquired in detail about their treatment and physical condition.
During the visit, he also interacted with the injured students, expressing concern and wishing them a speedy recovery. He emphasized the importance of ensuring proper and timely medical care. Among those present were University Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Secretary General of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Sibghatullah, and members of the proctorial team. The Vice-Chancellor provided necessary directives to those concerned and stressed the need for the best possible treatment for the injured.
The incident has triggered concern and tension on campus, with sections of students calling for a fair investigation and accountability for those responsible.
