Kamrul Hasan : Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Afroza Khanam Rita, MP, has called on everyone to remain vigilant against misinformation and misleading propaganda targeting the country`s aviation sector. She said that a vested group has been spreading false information using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology with the intention of tarnishing the image of the government. Emphasizing the importance of awareness, she urged people to verify facts and cultivate a culture of checking the authenticity of information before accepting or sharing it.
She made these remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a free medical camp and blood donation programme held on Saturday morning (June 13) at the Harijan Colony in the Old Launch Ghat area of Manikganj town. The programme was organized to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, where she attended as the chief guest.
The minister said that since assuming office, one of her top priorities has been ensuring improved, safe, and harassment-free services for expatriate Bangladeshis at the country`s airports. To achieve this goal, the government has been implementing a series of development and reform initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality, modernizing airport facilities, and creating a more passenger-friendly environment across the country`s airports.
She further stated that the government is giving the highest importance to transforming the national flag carrier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, into a trustworthy, efficient, and internationally competitive organization. She expressed optimism that the ongoing reform initiatives would further improve the quality of services in the country`s aviation sector, enabling both general passengers and expatriate Bangladeshis to directly benefit from these improvements.
Following the programme, a special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Arafat Rahman Koko, former minister the late Harunur Rashid Khan Monno, and Huron Nahar Rashid. Prayers were also offered for the good health and longevity of BNP Chairman & Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and well as for peace, prosperity, and the overall well-being of the country.
Doctors from different levels in Manikganj, along with leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations, were present at the event.
