Pakistan PM Invites Turkish Investors to Expand Footprint in Pakistan
  Date : 04-07-2026

Online  Desk: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a series of high-level meetings with leading Turkish business executives and industry representatives in Istanbul, reaffirming Pakistan`s commitment to deepening economic cooperation with Türkiye and attracting greater foreign investment across key sectors.

During the meetings, the prime minister emphasized that the longstanding brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye should be translated into a stronger economic and investment partnership. He highlighted Pakistan`s improving macroeconomic indicators, investor-friendly policy reforms and the government`s commitment to ensuring a transparent, predictable and business-friendly environment for foreign investors.

Shehbaz Sharif met separately with Çalık Holding Chairman Ahmet Çalık, Albayrak Group Chairman Ahmet Albayrak, and President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

Inviting Turkish companies to broaden their presence in Pakistan, the prime minister identified energy, mining and minerals, infrastructure, maritime and logistics, information technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, agriculture and privatization as priority sectors offering significant investment opportunities.

He said the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), in close coordination with federal and provincial authorities, is providing one-window facilitation and institutional support to strategic investors, making Pakistan an increasingly attractive destination for foreign investment.

During his meeting with Çalık Holding, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the vast opportunities available in Pakistan`s energy, infrastructure, IT and privatization sectors. He welcomed the company`s interest in expanding its operations, noting that its existing presence through Çalık Enerji and GAP İnşaat provides a solid foundation for enhanced cooperation.

In talks with Albayrak Group, the prime minister praised the company`s longstanding engagement in Pakistan and encouraged it to increase investments in maritime infrastructure, port modernization and logistics, acknowledging its role in strengthening the country`s connectivity and infrastructure development.

Meeting TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, the prime minister appreciated the organization`s continued efforts to promote business-to-business engagement between the two countries. He proposed establishing a structured institutional mechanism for regular interaction between the private sectors of Pakistan and Türkiye and invited TOBB to lead a high-level business delegation to Pakistan to explore emerging investment opportunities.

The Turkish business leaders welcomed Pakistan`s ongoing economic reforms and improving investment climate, expressing confidence in the country`s economic prospects. They reaffirmed their commitment to expanding investments and forging long-term partnerships in strategic sectors, underscoring their support for further strengthening the growing economic relationship between Pakistan and Türkiye.
