  Security strengthen around US Embassy following possible attack threat

Security has been strengthen around the US Embassy in Dhaka following specific intelligence about a possible militant attack.

SWAT team of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was also deployed on Monday night. They are specially trained for high-risk operations and are equipped with advanced weapons.

According to police said the security has been intensified after receiving credible information about a possible attack.

``We were not given detailed information about the nature of the threat,`` said Masud Alam, Assistant Commissioner (AC) of DMP’s Gulshan Division.
