Khelafat Majlis greets nation, Muslim ummah on Eid-ul-Adha

MT Desk: Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Abdul Basit Azad and Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Kader have extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to the people of Bangladesh and the Muslim Ummah worldwide.

In an Eid message, the leaders said, “May the holy Eid-ul-Adha, radiant with the glory of sacrifice, illuminate the lives of us all. We pray to Almighty Allah for this.”

They recalled that Prophet Ibrahim (AS) made every effort to sacrifice his beloved son in obedience to Allah’s command, while Prophet Ismail (AS) was ready to give his life to earn Allah’s pleasure. “But in his place, Allah provided a ram for sacrifice. To keep their supreme obedience and self-sacrifice as a lesson for later generations, Allah ordained Hajj and animal sacrifice on Eid-ul-Adha,” the message stated.

The leaders urged people to sacrifice the ‘animalistic traits’ within themselves along with the sacrificial animal, and to strengthen themselves with the spirit of Ismail (AS). “Eid-ul-Adha teaches us submission to Allah, the highest level of self-sacrifice, and the values of equality, charity, and brotherhood needed to build a pious and prosperous society,” they said.

Khelafat Majlis leaders noted that after 16 years of fascist repression, the people are celebrating Eid-ul-Adha without fear for the second time. They prayed that the joy of Eid reaches the families of those killed and injured by fascist forces, and called on the government to extend Eid greetings to the families of martyrs.

They also urged the wealthy to come forward so that the poor and helpless can enjoy sacrificial meat on Eid day. The government must ensure fair prices for sacrificial animal hides, improve law and order including the safety of women and children, and ensure maximum administrative support for the security of roads and homes, they said.

The leaders expressed hope that the UN and the Muslim world would play an effective role in establishing a lasting ceasefire in the Middle East and the creation of an independent Palestinian state. They also called on the Bangladesh government to take effective steps to repatriate Rohingya refugees to Arakan with full citizenship rights.

They condemned restrictions on animal sacrifice during Eid-ul-Adha in various Indian states and prayed for the liberation of all oppressed people across the world, including in India.
