44 Sellers of drugs arrested in city by DMP

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a total of 44 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the last 24 hours till 6am today. 

According to a release issued by the DMP, police conducted these operations against the drug sellers and consumers in different areas under various police stations of the metropolis. They also detained a total of 44 drug traffickers and recovered huge drugs from their possessions from 6am of May 18 to 6 am today.  During anti-drug drive, the Police seized 1,602 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 34 grams and 277 puria (small packets) of heroin, 28.400 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) and 50 drug injections from their possessions, the release added

32 separate cases against the arrestees were filed by police.
