Online Report : Two construction workers were killed and five others injured when a truck collided with a pick-up van Gazipur`s Sreepur upazila of district on Saturday.

The collision happened around 4:30 am at Ansar Road under the upazila.

The dead were Rasel Mia, 25, and Abu Sufian, 25, hailed from Sunamganj district.

Sreepur Fire Service station officer Belal Ahmed said the accident occurred when a dump truck hit a Mawna-bound pick-up van carrying construction workers, leaving Rasel dead on the spot and six others injured.

The injured were taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared Sufian dead.

Sreepur Police Station sub-inspector Md Kuddus police seized the truck and legal steps will be taken in this regard.
