Two killed as tractor hits auto-rickshaw in Joypurhat

Two persons were killed and four others injured in Joypurhat`s Sadar upazila on Sunday when a tractor-trolley rammed a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw.

The accident happened at night in Dadra area of the upazila, left Jiten Barman, 41, and Idris Ali, 33, of Panchbibi upazila dead.

The identities of the injured could not be known immediately, Joypurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Humayun Kabir confirmed it.


The tractor hit the auto-rickshaw, carrying day labourers who were returning home in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat after harvesting paddy from Raninagar area of Naogaon district, police said.


Jiten and Idris died on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Joypurhat hospital.
