Sufi Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, founder chairman of PHP Family and recipient of the Ekushey Padak for social service, paid a courtesy visit to former Malaysian prime minister and architect of modern Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur at the invitation of Mahathir, was held in a cordial atmosphere, according to a press release issued by PHP Family.
As Mahathir entered his 100th year, Sufi Mizan greeted him with flowers and wished him good health and longevity. In response, Mahathir praised Bangladesh and thanked Sufi Mizan for his contributions to the country`s economic development and urged him to continue the trend of industrialization.
Sufi Mizan shares a longstanding relationship with Mahathir.
In 2014, at Sufi Mizan`s invitation, Mahathir visited Bangladesh with his wife and attended the second convocation of the University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS), established by PHP Family, as the chief guest.
Sufi Mizan`s youngest son, Mohammad Akhtar Parvez, currently serves as the Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Bangladesh.
Among others, PHP Family Managing Director Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, Director Mohammad Zaherul Islam Rinku, and prominent businessman Zillur Rahman were present on the meeting.
