Kamrul Hasan: BNP’s Acting Chairman and People’s Leader Tarique Rahman has set a shining example in politics through his unforgettable role in safeguarding independence, the constitution, and democracy. Not only in Bangladesh but also on the international stage, Tarique Rahman’s visionary leadership and political strategies have been widely praised.
Therefore, Tarique Rahman is the only capable leader to ensure the overall development of the country, establish peace and order, and fulfill the people’s aspirations. For this reason, there is no alternative to BNP in building a developed country and a prosperous nation—said Dr. Khondaker Akbar Hossain Bablu, elder son of late BNP Secretary General Advocate Khondaker Delwar Hossain, former Vice-President of Manikganj District BNP, current member of the District Convening Committee, and nomination-seeker for the Manikganj-1 constituency from BNP’s electoral symbol Sheaf of Paddy.
On Saturday afternoon, addressing party leaders, activists, supporters, general voters, and locals as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Upazila BNP and all its affiliated bodies at Daulatpur Pilot High School ground in Manikganj—following mass communication, leaflet distribution, and campaigning for Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform plan for restructuring the state—Dr. Bablu made this statement.
The meeting was presided over by Advocate Muhammad Nurul Islam Kuntu, District BNP Convening Committee member and Organizational Secretary of Upazila BNP. Among others present were: Upazila BNP Senior Joint General Secretary Md. Shafiul Alam Biltu, Joint General Secretary Md. Aminul Islam, Ghior Upazila BNP Vice-President Md. Anwar Hossain, Shibaloy Upazila BNP Vice-President Kazi Abdur Razzak, former Joint Convenor of District Jubo Dal Mohidur Rahman, Roman Khondaker Junior (son of late Khondaker Abdul Hamid Dabul), District Krishak Dal member Abul Kalam Azad, former Senior Vice-President of Daulatpur Upazila Volunteer Dal K.M. Chan Mia Master, former Joint Convenor of Upazila Jubo Dal Md. Rezaul Karim, Upazila Jubo Dal Convening Committee member Md. Delwar Hossain Soikot, District Shaheed Zia Projonmo Dal Joint General Secretary Md. Shafiqul Islam Shafiq, BNP leader Himon Khan, former Joint General Secretary of Manikganj District Chhatra Dal Md. Kabir Hossain, student leader Md. Mizanur Rahman, along with senior leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations.
Dr. Bablu said, “It is because of the strong leadership and visionary strategy of Tarique Rahman, BNP’s Acting Chairman, that Bangladesh has been freed from fascism. He has proven that united people’s power is the key to national liberation and development. Upholding the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, the proclaimer of independence, we must forget all divisions and ensure victory for the Sheaf of Paddy.”
He further said that after 17 years of struggle, the interim government has announced that the national election will be held in the first half of February next year to fulfill the people’s expectations. But a certain anti-independence quarter is conspiring to foil the election. He urged everyone to build united public opinion to resist these evil forces and maintain the democratic process.
Dr. Bablu also mentioned that the followers of his late father Advocate Khondaker Delwar Hossain have now reunited. He expressed hope that this would further strengthen BNP’s organizational structure and revitalize party activities through new polarization.
He said, “Manikganj BNP has always been at the forefront of movements and struggles. In the upcoming election, we must work together to ensure victory for the Sheaf of Paddy in every constituency of the district. Because only if Tarique Rahman becomes the Prime Minister, will the overall development of the country, the establishment of people’s rights, and the resolution of national crises be possible.”
Finally, he prayed for the recovery and long life of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and for the good health and successful leadership of People’s Leader Tarique Rahman.
