Two motorcyclists were killed in a road mishap on Shah Porir Dwip road under Teknaf upazila in Cox`s Bazar district on Sunday noon.

The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 22, son of late Nunu Mia of Sabrang Katabania area in the upazila and Abdur Rob, 25, son of Amir Hamza of Samiti Para in Cox’s Bazar town.

According to locals, the incident occurred at around 2 PM on Sunday when a covered-van hit their motorcycle, resulting in the immediate death of the duo at the spot.

Teknaf Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Abu Jahed Md Najmun Nur confirmed the incident and said that the bodies have been sent to Cox`s Bazar General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Legal action regarding the incident is currently underway, added the OC.
