International Right to Information Day observed in Gazipur

Syed Atik: International Right to Information Day observed in Gazipur to ensure the right to information of the people. On Sunday (September 28), the International Right to Information Day 2025 was observed jointly by the District Administration Gazipur and the Conscious Citizens Committee (SANAK) at the Bhawal Conference Room of the Gazipur District Administration. Representatives of various government departments, development agencies and members of social organizations participated in the meeting. SANAK member Professor Fatema Zohra delivered a welcome speech under the baton of TIB Area Coordinator-Public Involvement Abul Fazal Mohammad Ahad, SANAK Vice President Syed Mohammad Shekanul Islam Shahi presented recommendations in light of the concept paper of the day, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development and Human Resources) Md. Shahriar Nazir discussed the Right to Information Act-2009.

On the occasion of International Right to Information Day, attention was drawn to the district administration`s taking effective steps to update the monitored sectors by making a powerpoint presentation in the light of the District Administration Gazipur`s Web Portal Monitoring Report-2025.
Deputy Director (Local Government) Ahmed Hossain Bhuiyan said in his speech as the chief guest, `There should not be any reluctance in the government service-providing departments to provide information under the Right to Information Act-2009 and it is not desirable.
