1,797 arrested across country in police drive

Members of law enforcement agencies in a drive have arrested a total of 1,797 people across country.

Among the arrestees, 1,187 people are wanted in existing cases or under arrest warrants.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Monday (June 23) by AIG (Media and Public Relations) of Police Headquarters, Enamul Haque Sagar.

Among those arrested, 1,187 were detained based on active cases and warrants, while another 610 were held for involvement in various other crimes.

During the drive, law enforcement also recovered several items allegedly used in criminal activities, including rifles, foreign-made pistols, and other weapons.

Police said such drives are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law and order across the country and ensure public safety.

Further details of the recovered weapons or breakdown by district were not immediately available.
