1 dengue death, 406 fresh cases recorded in 24 hrs

Another death was reported from dengue in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8:00am to Wednesday 8:00am), taking the total number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 52 this year.

The new death was reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

During the period, 406 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the total cases to 13,594 to date this year, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a statement today (July 9).

Of the new cases, highest 98 were reported in Barishal division (outside the city corporation), 78 in Chattogram division (out of cc), 64 in Dhaka division (out of cc), 36 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and 53 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

Besides, 35 cases were recorded in Khulna division (out of cc), 4 in Mymensingh division (out of cc), 31 in Rajshahi division (out of cc), 5 in Rangpur division (out of cc) and 2 in Sylhet division (out of cc).
