Petrol, octane prices hiked by Tk 5 per litre
  Date : 01-06-2026

The government has increased the retail prices of petrol, octane and kerosene by Tk 5 per litre, while keeping the price of diesel unchanged.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Division issued a gazette notification on Sunday night announcing the revised fuel prices, which will come into effect from Monday.

Under the new rates, octane will be sold at Tk 145 per litre, up from Tk 140, while petrol prices have been raised to Tk 140 per litre from Tk 135. The price of kerosene has also been increased by Tk 5 to Tk 135 per litre.

However, the price of diesel has been kept unchanged at Tk 115 per litre.

According to the notification, the latest adjustment has been made in line with the government`s fuel pricing formula, which aligns domestic fuel prices with movements in the international market.

The latest hike follows a significant increase in fuel prices on April 19, when the government raised diesel prices by Tk 15 per litre, octane by Tk 20, petrol by Tk 19 and kerosene by Tk 18.

Following that revision, diesel prices were increased from Tk 100 to Tk 115 per litre, octane from Tk 120 to Tk 140, petrol from Tk 116 to Tk 135 and kerosene from Tk 112 to Tk 130.
