All four female candidates from Shibir panel win

In Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall council elections, all four female candidates from Shibir-backed ‘Oikkoboddho Shikkharthi Jote’ secured decisive victories in various positions.

Fatema Tasnim Zuma, the panel’s candidate for Liberation & Democratic Movement Secretary, won 10,631 votes.

She joined the panel through Inquilab Monch and is a residential student of 2021–22 session at Sufia Kamal Hall.


Sabikun Nahar Tamanna, president of DU Chhatri Songstha, contested for a general member seat. A student of 2019–20 session, she won 10,084 votes.

Umme Salma, a 2020–21 session student of English Department, ran for the post of Common Room, Reading Room & Cafeteria Secretary.

She received 9,920 votes and is a non-residential student of Sufia Kamal Hall.

Afsana Akter, a 2019–20 session student of Department of Islamic History & Culture, contested for a member seat representing the panel.

She is a student of Kuwait-Maitree Hall and secured 5,747 votes, earning a decisive victory.
