The railway authorities have reclaimed 34 decimals of encroached land through an eviction drive at Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram district on Wednesday.

The drive, led by Railway Senior Assistant Secretary Dipankar Tanchangya and conducted by the Railway Eastern Zone Land Estate Department, started at 10 AM.

Illegal structures were demolished from Gomdondi Railway Station to Kanungopara Road in Buri Pukur Par area.

Tanchangya said approximately 15,000 square feet of land, equivalent to 34 decimals, was recovered during the drive.

He added that the Railway Ministry had earlier issued a public notice in December last year regarding its encroached land.
