MM Rahmatullah: The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh, Alexander Grigoryevich Khozin, met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Shama Obaed Islam, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.
During the meeting, Ambassador Khozin congratulated the State Minister on assuming her new role and expressed confidence that relations between Bangladesh and Russia would continue to strengthen.
Shama Obaed Islam highlighted the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries and emphasized cooperation in several sectors, including:
Energy
Trade and investment
Science and technology
Education
Skilled migration
People-to-people exchanges

The Russian Ambassador reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation and appreciated Bangladesh’s continued engagement with Russia.
The State Minister also requested Russia’s support for Bangladesh’s candidature for the Presidency of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly for the 2026–2027 term.
The meeting ended with both sides expressing satisfaction with the progress of bilateral relations and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the mutually beneficial partnership.
