  Date : 21-06-2026

At least six people, including five Bangladeshi expatriates from Sylhet, were killed in a road accident in Qatar’s Al Shahaniya area on Saturday morning.

The deceased Bangladeshis were identified as Jasim Uddin, Jibal Uddin, Mostak Ahmed, Jubayer Ahmed and Kader Ahmed. All were residents of Gachhbari village under Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet. The sixth victim was an Indian national.

Family and local sources said that the workers were heading to their workplace in a pickup van in the morning. The vehicle crashed in the Shahaniya area after the driver lost control of the steering, leaving all six occupants dead on the spot.

Jalalabad Association Qatar general secretary Ahmed Malek said that they were maintaining constant contact with the Bangladesh embassy in Doha to complete the necessary legal procedures and ensure the swift repatriation of the bodies.
