Online Desk: A 15-member cultural troupe from Bangladesh has reached Islamabad to present Bangladeshi culture on Pakistani stages, marking a fresh chapter in cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The troupe comprises musicians, dance and vocal artists and representatives from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh. Renowned Bangladeshi painter and printmaker Md Abdus Satter is also part of the delegation.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka on October 16, 2026, the artists will perform at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts and at Lok Virsa during their visit. The performances are expected to showcase the diversity of Bangladeshi music, dance and artistic traditions before Pakistani audiences.
The visit has been arranged in line with the decision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to promote cultural exchanges between the two brotherly countries. Officials said the initiative follows the signing of a Cultural Exchange Programme during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar to Bangladesh last year.
Diplomatic sources said such cultural exchanges will help strengthen people-to-people contacts and allow new generations in both countries to understand each other`s heritage more closely.
