  Date : 29-10-2026

BNP candidate Mirza Faisal Amin has alleged that agents of the coconut symbol have joined Jamaat-e-Islami during the Thakurgaon-1 by-election.

He made the allegation after visiting Government Women`s College polling centre around 9:15 AM on Thursday.

“The coconut symbol agents have all become Jamaat agents. Jamaat agents have entered with papers for the coconut symbol,” he alleged.

Earlier, after casting his vote, he expressed hope for a landslide victory, saying the election would be held in a peaceful, festive atmosphere.

The constituency has 185 polling centres and 515,853 voters across Thakurgaon Sadar, Ruhia and Bhulli.
