Bangladesh aim to bounce back against Ireland in must-win 2nd T20

Bangladesh Women`s cricket team will face Ireland in a crucial second T20 match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).

After losing the first game by 12 runs, the Tigresses must win to keep the three-match series alive.

Ireland posted their highest-ever T20 total against Bangladesh, scoring 169-5 in the opening game. The performance of the Irish batters, who dominated the Bangladesh bowling attack, surprised many, given the perceived strength gap between the two sides.

Despite the challenging target, Bangladesh made a strong start with an impressive 103-run opening stand between Dilara Akter and Sobhana Mostary, the highest partnership for Bangladesh in T20Is. However, the middle order failed to capitalize on the foundation, leaving the team short of victory.

The Tigresses are focused on addressing their middle-order batting issues and improving their bowling to level the series. A victory would set up a thrilling decider in the final game of the series.

Bangladesh had earlier dominated the ODI series against Ireland with a clean sweep, keeping their hopes alive for direct qualification to next year’s ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in India.
