Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression in line with international law: APHC

‘Resolution of Kashmir dispute essential for lasting peace in South Asia’
MT Desk: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has said that Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression is in accordance with international law.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that India violated Pakistan’s sovereignty through provocative actions and carried out a deadly nighttime attack that resulted in the martyrdom of several Pakistani civilians, including innocent children.
The spokesman said India is attempting to cover up the civilian deaths by making baseless claims about so-called terrorist camps. He emphasized that India hac been engaged in state terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the past 77 years, and nearly 500,000 Kashmiris had been martyred for demanding their legitimate right to self-determination.
He added that the illegal revocation of the territory’s special status in August 2019 by the Modi regime was a grave assault on the identity and rights of the Kashmiri people. India is now shamelessly labelling the enforced silence in the territory—imposed at gunpoint—as peace.
The spokesman stressed that the international community had rejected India’s illegal actions and continued to recognize Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory. “The core cause of rising tensions between Pakistan and India is the unresolved Kashmir dispute,’ he said.
He warned India’s stubbornness and arrogance are pushing the region toward the brink of a nuclear conflict, and urged New Delhi to abandon its policy of subjugating the Kashmiri people and asserting regional dominance through force.
The APHC reiterated that the Kashmir dispute was a reality, and no rhetoric about it being an integral part of India could change that.
The spokesman concluded by saying that lasting peace and sustainable development in South Asia will remain a distant dream unless the Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the UN Security Council resolutions.
He urged the United Nations to step forward and put pressure on India to fulfill its international obligations regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
