International Desk : Pakistan has shot down another Indian warplane. Pakistani Air Force (PAF) reportedly downed an Indian Air Force Mirage 2000 fighter jet during the conflict with India earlier this month.

This information has been confirmed by Pakistan`s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Pakistan had previously claimed to have shot down five Indian warplanes. With the claim of downing another fighter jet, the number of Indian warplanes reportedly shot down now stands at six.

Pakistani news outlet Express Tribune reported this information in a report on Thursday night (May 15th).

The news outlet states that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down another Indian warplane – a Mirage 2000 – in the Pampore area of Kashmir on the night of May 6-7. With this, Pakistan has now claimed to have shot down a total of six Indian aircraft.

While visiting an operational base of the Pakistan Air Force in Kamra on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz said, "This incident is proof of the exceptional skill of our air force and the unwavering commitment of the armed forces to protect the motherland."

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan military, Prime Minister Shehbaz met with frontline personnel, including pilots, engineers, and technicians, and deeply appreciated their professionalism and impeccable skills.

The Pakistani Prime Minister said, "In response to India`s aggression, Pakistan`s armed forces have shown restraint, strategic foresight, and effective defense. Their precise and swift response has dealt a major blow to the enemy`s military infrastructure and has proven that Pakistan will never back down in protecting the country`s sovereignty."

He further added, "The entire nation is proud of the awareness and courage shown by every branch of the military. Under the able leadership of the Army Chief, they have once again proven that Pakistan`s security is impenetrable."

Prime Minister Shehbaz stated, "Both the Pakistan government and the nation are fully committed to national security. Our forces are ready to protect every inch of the country, and any aggression will be met with an appropriate, timely, and strong response."
