Wockhardt CME & Dinner Evening to be held in Dhaka on September 4

Online Desk: An international-level Continuing Medical Education (CME) and dinner evening focusing on modern cancer treatment and oncology care will be held in Dhaka on September 4.

Organised by Doctors Information, the Wockhardt CME & Dinner Evening will take place at the Unique Regency Hotel, Banani, bringing together doctors, healthcare professionals, selected patients and their family members.

The programme aims to provide Bangladeshi patients and medical professionals with updated information on advanced cancer treatment and contemporary healthcare services available internationally.

Dr. Jimmy Mirani, Consultant Medical Oncologist at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai, will speak at the event on modern approaches to cancer treatment. His presentation will cover key areas of medical oncology, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy.

The session is expected to provide healthcare professionals with an opportunity to gain insights into evolving treatment approaches and the growing role of advanced therapies in cancer care.

Veronica Sarker, representative of the International Business Development team of Wockhardt Hospitals, will also address the gathering. She will outline the hospital`s medical facilities for Bangladeshi patients, international patient services and access to advanced healthcare.

Unlike conventional professional medical meetings, the event will also include selected patients and their family members. This is intended to help patients and caregivers better understand available treatment options and the process of accessing specialised healthcare abroad.

Mamunur Rashid, Founder of Doctors Information, said the organisation`s objective goes beyond facilitating treatment abroad.

“Our goal is not simply to send patients abroad for treatment. We want to ensure that patients receive the right specialist opinion, accurate medical information and effective communication with the international healthcare system,” he said.

Cancer remains a major health concern in Bangladesh, while patients and their families often face difficulties in identifying appropriate specialists, understanding treatment options and navigating overseas healthcare systems. Against this backdrop, organisers believe that greater access to reliable medical information can help patients make more informed decisions.

The September 4 programme is therefore expected to serve as a platform for interaction among medical professionals, patients and an international healthcare provider, with particular emphasis on modern oncology and patient-centred care.
