Heavy-lift vessel docks at Mongla Port
  Date : 15-06-2025

For the first time, Mongla Port in Bagerhat welcomed a heavy-lift vessel, the Netherlands-flagged MV Jumbo Kinetic, on June 10, 2025.

Shakhawat Hossain Milon, operations manager of Allseas Shipping Ltd, the vessel’s local shipping agent, confirmed the arrival.

The Jumbo Kinetic, renowned for its heavy-lift capabilities, is equipped with two cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 1,500 tonnes, allowing a combined capacity of 3,000 tonnes.

Milon noted that this is the first time a vessel with such high-capacity cranes has docked at Mongla Port, where previous heavy-lift vessels had cranes limited to 1,000 tonnes.

The ship is currently loading four anchorage boats, each weighing 440 tonnes, and a 50-tonne crane for re-export.

These components, previously used for dredging operations in the Pashur Channel, are being prepared for shipment to China.

The vessel is scheduled to depart from Anchorage 7 in Harbaria on June 16, 2025.
