Ranveer Singh joins Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe
  Date : 07-07-2025

Ranveer Singh has officially signed on with Maddock Films to star in a new installment of the studio’s hit horror-comedy franchise, NDTV has exclusively learned.

The film, still untitled and currently without a director, will be creatively guided by genre mainstay Amar Kaushik, the visionary behind Stree and Bhediya.

Kaushik, who launched Maddock’s supernatural comedy universe with the 2018 breakout Stree, has since become the franchise’s key architect. He is currently directing Mahavatar, a supernatural action thriller starring Vicky Kaushal, while also overseeing several projects within Maddock’s expanding horror-comedy slate.

Producer Dinesh Vijan’s quirky universe already includes stars like Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Pankaj Tripathi, and Akshay Kumar. With Singh’s entry, the franchise is set for its most high-voltage casting yet.

Singh’s involvement follows weeks of speculation, especially after he was spotted at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios in what was believed to be a hush-hush Maddock project. Though those rumors were initially unconfirmed, this announcement now confirms his official induction into the spooky cinematic universe.

Further details—including casting, title, and release window—are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
