Six Dead in Kenya Plane Crash
  Date : 10-08-2025

International Desk : A plane belonging to the charity medical organization Amref Flying Doctors has crashed into a residential building in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, killing six people.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon (August 7). The BBC also reported that two other people were seriously injured in the crash.

The charity, Amref Flying Doctors, stated that the Cessna aircraft departed from Wilson Airport for Hargeisa, Somalia, on Thursday afternoon. Shortly after takeoff, the plane crashed into a residential building in the Githurai area of Nairobi. There were a total of four people on board, including Amref staff and crew members.

Henry Wafula, the commissioner for Kiambu County, Nairobi, said that all four people on the plane—the pilot, a doctor, and two nurses—were killed. In addition, two other people on the ground also died in the tragic incident.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said that radio and radar contact with the plane was lost three minutes after takeoff.

In a statement, Amref CEO Stephen Gitau said, “We are currently fully cooperating with the relevant aviation authorities and emergency services in their investigation of this incident. The Kenya armed forces and police have been deployed to the crash site to strengthen search and rescue efforts.”
