Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu slogans in Kushtia court premises

Rafiqul Islam, Kushtia Correspondent : Police have arrested Farhad Hossain Pappu, an accused in the case of attack and attempted murder on students and public during the July movement in Kushtia. The arrested Chhatra League leader shouted `Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu` slogans while taking him to court.

The incident took place on the ground floor of the Chief Judicial Magistrate`s Court in Kushtia at around 1:30 pm on Wednesday (August 27).

He entered the court building while shouting these slogans while being taken to the court from a police van. Earlier, he was arrested from Dhaka on Tuesday night.

Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khandaker Ziaur Rahman confirmed the matter.

The arrested Farhad Hossain Pappu (26) is the son of Moti Hossain of Elangi area of ??Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia. He is the vice-president of Kumarkhali upazila Chhatra League. He is the third accused in the case of attack and attempted murder on students during the July movement. He also has several other cases against him.

Eyewitnesses said that around 1:30 pm, the police brought Chhatra League leader Pappu to the court in a car. As soon as he got out of the car, Pappu shouted slogans of `Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu`.

At that time, 10 more Chhatra League leaders and activists started chanting slogans with him. They entered the court building while chanting slogans. They ran away after shouting slogans for a while. Later, the court sent him to jail.

Although the Kushtia Court Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahurul Islam was called several times in this regard, he did not answer.
