Bangladesh participates in Int`l trade fair in Malaysia

BSS)- Bangladesh has participated for the first time in the fair titled `Sabah Investment and Trade Expo 2025 (SITE 2025)` organized in Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah province, Malaysia.

The three-day fair is being organized by the Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) from September 26 to 28 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), said a handout here.

Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Cum Minister of Works Datuk Shahelmey Yahya officially opened the fair yesterday. Later he visited the booths of various participating countries including Bangladesh.

Various types of food and beverages, jute products, leather products, ceramics, plastic products, ready-made garments and other exportable products were displayed in the Bangladesh pavilion.

Acting High Commissioner Mosammat Shahanara Monica welcomed the guests at the Bangladesh booth and apprised them of the various exportable products of Bangladesh.

She requested the state government to cooperate in expanding the market for famous Bangladeshi products in the state of Sabah.

Datuk Shahelmey Yahya presented certificates of appreciation to the Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh and representatives of Bangladeshi institutions for participating in the fair.

On the second day of the fair, Acting High Commissioner Mosammat Shahanara Monica met with Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) President Natalie Fung and immediate past president Datuk Richard Lim and other representatives of the federation.

At the request of the acting high commissioner the Federation leaders expressed interest to visit Bangladesh.
