Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will hold its undergraduate admission test for the 2025–26 academic year on January 10 next year, with applications opening from November 16 for approximately three weeks.
BUET admission test organizing committee chairman Professor Dr. Abdul Jalil confirmed the matter on Saturday.
This year, the admission test will be conducted in a single-stage written format, with no preliminary or two-phase system. Professor Jalil emphasized that the process will be completed in one stage, maintaining transparency and fairness.
BUET’s eligibility criteria remain unchanged despite lower HSC results, requiring a minimum GPA 5.0 overall and separate GPA 5.0 in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined.
“The results reflect reality; only genuinely high-performing students achieved GPA-5 this year,” Prof. Jalil said.
The official admission notice, including the exact closing date for applications, will soon be published in newspapers and on BUET’s website.
