Diplomatic Desk: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on Monday, during which the two leaders reviewed the evolving regional situation and underscored the importance of diplomacy to ensure peace and stability.
During the conversation, Dar stressed the need for all parties to exercise maximum restraint and pursue the path of de-escalation, in line with the understanding reached under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in June 2026.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance, the deputy prime minister emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to continue playing a constructive role in promoting regional peace, fostering mutual understanding, and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions.
The Iranian foreign minister and his Pakistani counterpart exchanged views on the prevailing regional developments and agreed to remain in close contact to facilitate continued consultations on matters of mutual interest.
The conversation reflected the shared commitment of Pakistan and Iran to maintaining regional stability through sustained engagement, dialogue, and peaceful diplomacy.
