Online Desk: The BJP regime has imposed restrictions to prevent people from marching toward the Martyrs’ Graveyard to pay tribute to the martyrs of July 1931 who are buried at Naqshband Sahib in Srinagar in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the call for the march toward the Martyrs’ Graveyard was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference to pay tribute to the martyrs. However, the occupation regime imposed restrictions across the occupied territory and sealed the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqshband Sahib in Srinagar, where 22 martyrs of July 13 are buried.

The authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar, including Nowhatta, M.R. Gunj, and Khanyar. The Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqshband Sahib in Khawaja Bazaar, Nowhatta, was sealed, with no public or political access permitted during the day or at night.

Barricades and checkpoints on highways connecting districts to Srinagar restricted people’s free travel in the city.Indian forces were deployed in strength in Srinagar areas to regulate movement.“We are taking precautionary measures,” a top police official told media persons.

“If any leader tries to move, we will restrict the movement.” July 13 commemorates the martyrdom of 22 Kashmiris killed in 1931 while protesting against the autocratic Dogra rule outside Srinagar Central Jail.

Roads leading to Naqshband Sahib were sealed. Leaders faced movement curbs or house arrest in some cases, and the public was advised to comply with orders, an eyewitness said.
