International: The World AI Conference 2026 will be held in Shanghai, China, from July 17 to 20, under the theme "Intelligent Partnership for a Shared Future." The announcement was made on Monday at a regular press briefing in Beijing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.
Lin said Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony of the conference and deliver a keynote address. In his speech, Xi will outline China`s policy positions and vision on the development and governance of artificial intelligence (AI).
China has invited government officials, researchers and representatives of international organizations from around the world to participate in the conference.
Lin expressed hope that the event will serve as a common platform for all stakeholders to strengthen mutual trust, build greater consensus and deepen cooperation on AI development and global governance.
