National Road Safety Day Observed in Chapainawabganj with Various Programs
  Date : 29-10-2026

Chapainawabganj Correspondent: National Road Safety Day was observed in Chapainawabganj through a series of programs, centered on the theme: "Safe Roads for a Prosperous Nation—Bangladesh Above All." The day was inaugurated on Wednesday (October 28) at 10:30 AM on the premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, marked by the release of balloons and the display of festoons. Subsequently, a vibrant rally paraded through the main thoroughfares of the town. Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Presided over by Additional District Magistrate Md. Anisur Rahman, the meeting featured Deputy Commissioner Abu Saleh Md. Musa Jangi as the chief guest.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the enforcement of laws alone is not enough to ensure road safety; it requires awareness among drivers, pedestrians, and the public at large. He stressed that everyone must strictly adhere to traffic laws to prevent road accidents. He noted that if everyone acts with caution—as skilled drivers and responsible citizens—our roads will become safer and better.

He further urged against driving under the influence of drugs or while fatigued, overtaking in hazardous areas or around bends, and the unnecessary use of horns. He called for a collective, unified effort to ensure road safety.
The meeting was attended by District Civil Surgeon Dr. K. M. Shahab Uddin; Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime & Ops) Md. Ekramul Haque; President of the District Bus Owners` Association Md. Daniul Haque; President of the Truck, Tank Lorry, and Covered Van Workers` Union Md. Saidur Rahman; President of the organization `Nirapod Sarak Chai` (We Want Safe Roads) Faruka Begum; and various officials from the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). The event was moderated by Md. Aminul Haque Abir.
Earlier, at 9:00 AM, a special awareness campaign was conducted near the traffic box at the Chapainawabganj `World Road` (Bishwa Road) intersection, organized by the Chapainawabganj circle of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA). During this time, motor vehicle drivers, transport owners, general passengers, and pedestrians were made aware of road safety through various informational materials and pieces of advice. Additionally, leaflets were distributed among them.
