Garment workers started their wage protest again in Mirpur for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday, paralysing major roads across the capital.
At one stage, police used water cannons, fired tear-gas shells and sound grenades to disperse the demonstrators.
The demonstrations began around 10AM, blocking Pallabi Road. As workers blocked one road after another, traffic movement came to a complete halt across the area, causing severe congestion and immense suffering for commuters and pedestrians.
