| MT Desk: Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that India is the biggest sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan, saying the Afghan Taliban regime is acting as India’s proxy. Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry in a media interview said the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) are also Indian proxies operating against Pakistan. He said the Afghan Taliban used hired fighters to achieve their nefarious objectives, adding that non-state actors were still running Afghanistan under the current regime. Several agencies, proxies established roots in Afghanistan Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that several agencies and proxies had established their roots in Afghanistan following Russian intervention. Terrorist organisations such as Jaish al-Adl, Al-Qaeda and Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) were also present in the country, he added. He said that the United Nations and the United States had also pointed to the presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan. The DG ISPR said Pakistan’s demand from the Afghan Taliban was to stop supporting terrorists operating inside Pakistan. He alleged that the Afghan Taliban regime had provided shelter to terrorists, including Noor Wali Mehsud, Bashir Zeb and Gul Bahadur. Terrorist formations entered Pakistan from Afghanistan He further said terrorist formations entered Pakistan from Afghanistan and received weapons from there. “If the Taliban regime does not listen to us on terrorism, it will have to pay a serious price,” he warned. Afghan Taliban regime has no credibility at global level Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the Afghan Taliban regime had no credibility at the international level. He urged the world community to compel the Afghan regime to behave like a normal state. He also called upon the international community to press the Afghan Taliban to stop the cultivation and production of drugs. Pakistan Armed Forces had the capability to counter all threats from the Afghan regime, including drones.
