Israeli Strike on Gaza School Kills 20, Many Injured

International Desk : An Israeli airstrike on a school housing displaced Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip has reportedly killed at least 20 people and injured many more.

The bombing by Netanyahu`s forces struck the Fahmi Al-Jarjaoui School in Gaza City early Monday morning, according to a Reuters report citing Gaza`s Ministry of Health. The school had been serving as a shelter for displaced individuals in the Gaza Strip.

Graphic images circulating on social media showed charred bodies, though Reuters could not immediately verify them.

Gaza`s Civil Defense stated that rescue workers have managed to extinguish fires caused by the bombing. The school is reportedly almost destroyed, and many people remain trapped under the rubble.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the attack.

Israel`s military has intensified its attacks on Gaza since early May. Despite growing international pressure on Israel to lift its blockade on aid supplies amid fears of famine in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated last week that Israel would control the entire Gaza Strip.

A statement from Gaza`s Public Relations Office on Sunday, May 25, 2025, claimed that Israel has taken control of 77% of Gaza through direct ground operations and the deployment of occupation forces in civilian and residential areas. Palestinians have been instructed to leave these areas, confining them to a small part of Gaza. Residents are now looking to the United Nations and the international community to end the occupation.

Meanwhile, twenty countries, led by Spain, gathered in Madrid to call for an end to the conflict. Spain declared that the war no longer has any justification and urged Israel to immediately lift the blockade and allow food into Gaza.
