53 still absent in Bhola PBS

MA Mannan, Bhola: Despite the strict instructions of the Power Department to the officers and employees, 53 are still absent in the name of public holiday in Polly Biddut Samity (PBS), Bhola.

Yesterday (September 11), General Manager (GM) of Bhola PBS Eng. Sujit Kumar Biswas informed about these absentees. He also said that there is no absence at the Bhola PBS headquarter located in Banglabazar, a suburb of Bhola district.

The General Manager also said, "Although 53 people are absent in the seven upazilas of Bhola, power supply is normal everywhere and no news of any power outage has been found from anywhere.

Although the number of absentees was high in the beginning, now the number of attendance is increasing every day. It is hoped that everyone will join in very soon.

He said that work has started to implement the various demands of the workers. Thus the Authority sees no need for a strike.

Already centrally working is underway to address the dissatisfaction among the workers on their various demands, added these officials.

Meanwhile, an official, absent by the name of public leave, said on the condition of anonymity, "We are agitating for four points of demand. However, if our demands are implemented by the authority concerned, we will return to our work. Our demands are regarding regularization of all contractual workers, withdrawal of cases and reinstatement of those dismissed and unfairly transferred officers and employees"
