The country has been freed from fascists under the leadership of Tarique Rahman — Rita

kamrul Hasan: Bangladesh has been freed from fascists under the wisdom, activity and leadership of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, said Afroza Khanam Rita, a member of the advisory council to the BNP chairperson and convener of Manikganj district BNP.

She made this comment while speaking as the chief guest at the annual Ursha of Sufi saint Kalu Shah Fakir in Saturia, Manikganj on Thursday evening.

The meeting, organized under the chairmanship of Khadem Gazi Salauddin of Darbar Sharif, was attended by district BNP convening committee members Advocate Azad Hossain Khan, Advocate A.F.M. Nurtaz Alam Bahar PP, Golam Abedin Kaiser, ASM Iqbal Hossain, Golam Kibria Sayeed, Abdus Salam Badal, Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Habu, Upazila BNP President Abdul Quddus Khan Majlis Makhon, General Secretary Abul Bashar Sarkar, District Jubo Dal Member Secretary Tuhinur Rahman Tuhin, Former Joint Convener of Krishak Dal Selim Al-Din, District Chhatra Dal President Abdul Khalek Shuvo, General Secretary Sirajur Rahman Khan Sajeeb, and leaders of district and upazila BNP and its affiliates were present.

Rita said, “Tareq Rahman has set a shining example in protecting freedom, constitution and democracy and in freeing the nation from oppression and torture. The mass movement of 24 is its manifestation. Because of his right decision and foresight, dictator Hasina was forced to leave the country on August 5 in the face of the BNP-students-people’s uprising. This achieved a fascism-free Bangladesh.”

She also said that establishing voting rights is essential to fulfill the long-desired expectations of the people and ensure the practice of democracy. But a group is eager to take away this right, which is never beneficial for the country and the nation. She called on everyone to work together to resist this evil force.

Outlining the future, Rita said, “A new Bangladesh will be built under the leadership of Tariq Rahman. Only if the 31 points he announced for repairing the state are implemented, Bangladesh will be known as a developed and prosperous country in the international arena.”

He called for strengthening organizational unity to ensure the victory of the paddy sheaf in every constituency of Manikganj with the aim of realizing the dream of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and making Tarique Rahman the future Prime Minister. He also wished for the health and longevity of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

Later, he attended the Shahsab Bari Darbar Sharif in Fukurhati, Saturia as the chief guest.
