Active Role of Youth Essential for the Victory of ‘Dhaner Sheesh’ : Rita

Kamrul Hasan: Monday was a day filled with enthusiasm among BNP’s youth organizations in Manikganj. On the occasion of the 47th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Youth Party, organized by the district Jubo Dal and its affiliated organizations, a celebratory procession and assembly were held. In her keynote speech, party convener Afroza Khanam Rita emphasized the active participation of young people for the welfare of the country and the party.

Rita highlighted the essential role of youth in ensuring the victory of the ‘Dhaner Sheesh’ symbol, while also implementing the 31-point campaign for state structure reforms announced by BNP’s Acting Chairman, National Leader Tarique Rahman. She stated, “What the country has given you is not the most important thing; what you can do for the country is what truly matters. Therefore, everyone must engage themselves for the welfare of the nation.”

The assembly was presided over by District Jubo Dal convener Kazi Mostak Hossain Dipu and conducted by member secretary Tuhinur Rahman Tuhin. Present at the event were district BNP convener committee members Advocate A.F.M. Nur Taj Alam Bahar PP, Golam Abedin Kaiser, Golam Kibria Saeed, Abdus Salam Badal, Rafique Uddin Bhuiya Habu, Asaduzzaman Khan Dolon, along with joint conveners of the district Jubo Dal Md. Masud Parvez, Md. Akhtar Hossain, Khondkar Tuhin; district volunteer party convener Advocate Jinnah Khan; district labor party president Md. Abdul Kader and general secretary Liton Mia; district student party president Abdul Khalek Shuvo and general secretary Sirajur Rahman Khan Sajib, as well as leaders of BNP and its affiliated organizations and local residents.

Addressing the party workers, Rita said that in the upcoming elections, the constituencies that achieve the highest votes and the individuals who contribute to the victory of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will be evaluated organizationally. She noted, “The interim government has announced the roadmap for the national elections in the first half of February 2026. However, some quarters are attempting election manipulation under the guise of the ‘peer system.’ Such forces can never ensure the welfare of the country and nation. Therefore, everyone must come forward united.”

She further stated, “BNP does not tolerate any conspiracy. Our goal is development and the welfare of the country. To ensure the victory of ‘Dhaner Sheesh’ in every constituency of Manikganj, we must set aside all divisions and work together.” Rita called on people to fulfill the dream of Martyr President Ziaur Rahman and prayed for the good health and long life of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, as well as for the country’s welfare. She also wished for the speedy recovery of party leader Begum Khaleda Zia.

Earlier, the celebratory procession toured the main streets of the city and concluded at the Manikganj Martyr Memorial premises, where thousands of party workers, supporters, and residents participated. The colorful flags, placards, and festive atmosphere transformed the city into a celebration.

Through the procession and assembly, it was evident that the youth of Manikganj are determined to actively participate in the development of the country and the welfare of the party. Rita’s call has inspired new enthusiasm among young men and women, making “ensuring the victory of Dhaner Sheesh” one of their key objectives.
