Journalists from 18 Countries Explore China’s Modern Industries and Technological Innovation

Online Desk: The series of special interviews titled “China Through the Eyes of Foreign Media,” organized by the Information Office of the State Council of China, has recently concluded. Journalists from various countries visited Beijing, Shanghai, Inner Mongolia and seven provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to learn about high-quality development in different parts of China during the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan.

Shanghai serves as a window into China’s reform and opening-up. Foreign journalists visited various locations, including the Hongqiao International Central Business District, where they interviewed relevant officials about efforts to expand high-level opening-up.

In Guangdong, foreign journalists visited enterprises, factories and universities to learn in detail about the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. In Anhui, focusing on the theme of “Building a Modern Industrial System,” the journalists interviewed officials from a number of enterprises and experienced firsthand the innovative vitality of new quality productive forces.

Scientific and technological innovation was a major focus of the foreign journalists’ visits to Beijing and Zhejiang. They watched demonstrations of humanoid robots and exchanged views on the development of artificial intelligence.

The special interview series “China Through the Eyes of Foreign Media” invited journalists from 18 countries, including the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom and Singapore.
